« His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the parish of the Nativity of Christ in Kingston-upon-Hull »

On January 21, 2023, Saturday after Theophany, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of the Nativity of Christ in Kingston-upon-Hull.
The divine service was celebrated in the central Anglican cathedral (minster) of the city, the construction of which dates back to 1300. At the entrance to the church, His Grace Vladyka was met by the Rector of the Cathedral Revd Canon Dr Dominic Black, and the church warden of the parish of the Nativity of Christ, Valentina Whiting.
At the Liturgy His Eminence was assisted by Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Dean of the Diocesan District of Northern England and Wales, Priest Anatoly Vikhrov, Rector of the Parish, and Deacon Pavel Wood, cleric of the Church of Sts. Aidan and Chad in Nottingham.
Liturgical hymns were performed by the consolidated chamber choir of the North English deanery.
Following the prayer behind the ambo, His Grace Vladyka performed the rite of the great blessing of water and addressed the parishioners with words of sermon and spiritual edification.
Parish rector, Fr. Anatoly, in turn, warmly greeted Vladyka Matthew and the concelebrating clergy, thanking the Archpastor for the visit, the opportunity for joint prayerful communion at the Divine Liturgy, and presented Vladyka with a memorial gift and a bouquet of flowers.
The young parishioners present at the service were given gifts. At the end there was a joint meal organised by the parish community.
