The Cathedral bookshop offers a wide range of Orthodox literature, published in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, as well as England and USA.

The available literature includes: the Holy Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, works by the Holy Fathers, Bible history; Church Service books, a variety of prayer books and the Psalter in Church Slavonic, as well as Russian and English. There is a wide choice of the akathists to our Lord, the Mother of God, Saints and the Church feasts, either in brochure form or as a collection of texts. It also has books on Cathechism, literature on dogmatic, moral and pastoral theology, works on the Russian and other Orthodox Churches, books on the Divine services, Christian art, iconography and icons, lives of saints, the pateriks and the lives of Christian ascetics. It also has writings of the Holy Fathers, from the time of the Apostles to the present day (St Theophan the Recluse of Vyshna, St Ignatius Brianchaninov, Righteous John of Kronstadt and the Venerable Elders of Optina); the Philokalia (Dobrotolubiye); books about God’s miracles and signs, both in and outside the Church; sermons, spiritual teachings and discussions; diaries, memoires and collections of letters; and religious fiction.

There is also a wide range of books on the Orthodox view of marriage, family life and the religious education of children and children’s literature, including the Holy Scriptures, Lives of Saints, stories about icons and feasts, children’s Prayer Books, stories and educational and colouring books.

The shop has a large choice of icons, neck crosses and holy images, as well as chains, incense, prayer beads, cards and other things.

There is also a wide range of CD and MP3 materials, including the New Testament, Book of the Acts of the Apostles, Psalter, Morning and Evening Prayers, Holy Communion Rule, church chants by the choirs of the Holy Trinity, Caves of Kiev, and Pochaev Lavras as well as of the Valaam, Optina and other monasteries and churches, covering the full cycle of annual church services. There are also some akathists to the Lord, Mother of God, some saints and feasts; church bell music, and lives of some saints, sermons, talks and lectures.

We also offer a large number of DVDs, including historical documentaries on monasteries, churches, holy places, saints and ascetics, and certain pilgrimages, witness accounts of miracles and divine signs; films about family life and children’s education, modern youth problems and social issues; recordings of Church services, sermons, lectures and talks, as well as children’s fiction.
