On the evening of January 6, on the eve of the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated an all-night vigil at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
At the all-night vigil, His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England, clergy of the UOC temporarily staying on the territory of the Sourozh diocese, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Protodeacon Vladimir Bigdan (Sydney and Australian-New Zealand Diocese of the ROCOR) and Deacon Ioan Sîlnic.
Church hymns were performed by the cathedral choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At Great Compline, Bishop Matthew celebrated the litia with the blessing of five loaves of bread, wine and oil.
At Matins, after reading the Gospel, Vladyka Matthew anointed the clergy and parishioners with consecrated oil.
