On September 26, 2023, on the eve of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated an all-night vigil at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
Concelebrating with His Grace were Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostopenko, Priest Nikita Kozlov and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
Liturgical chants were performed by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At Vespers, His Grace the Archpastor consecrated bread, wheat, wine and oil.
At Matins, after the great doxology, the rite of carrying out the Cross and venerating it was performed with the singing of the prayer: “We worship Your Cross, O Master, and we glorify Your Holy Resurrection”.
