« His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh led the patronal celebration in the parish of St Silouan the Athonite in Southampton »

On Sunday, September 24, 2023, the 16th Sunday after Pentecost, the day of remembrance of St. Silouan the Athonite (+1938), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh led the patronal feast in the parish of St. Silouan in Southampton.
During the Divine Liturgy, His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the diocesan district of South-West England, Rector of the parish, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, and Deacon Viktor Nikiforov, clergyman of the parish.
After the augmented litany, the Archpastor offered a prayer for the restoration of peace.
After the Liturgy, a moleben service with a procession was served.
Next, His Grace Vladyka addressed those present with a word of sermon and spiritual edification, congratulated the clergy and parishioners on the patronal celebration and gave everyone his archpastoral blessing.
At the end of the divine service, the clergy and parishioners took part in a common meal organised by the community.
