« A pilgrimage to Caldbeck, Cumbria, to the spring of St. Kentigern of Strathclyde »

On January 28, 2023, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, a pilgrimage took place to the village of Caldbeck, Cumbria, to the historical spring of St. Kentigern (Mungo) the Wonderworker of Strathclyde (c. 518/c. 528 - c. 612).
Clergy and parishioners of the diocesan districts of the North of England, Wales and Scotland made a journey to the place associated with the holy ascetic of the 6th century, revered as the apostle of Scotland and the main patron of one of the largest Scottish cities - Glasgow.
On the bank of the river of the same name, behind the ancient church of the XII century in honor of the holy ascetic, there is a spring of St. Kentigern (Mungo), presumably dating from the IV century.
The pilgrimage began with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, headed by Priest Anatoly Vikhrov, Rector of the parishes of St. Xenia of St.Petersburg in Leeds, of the Presentation of the Lord in Bradford, of the Nativity of Christ in Kingston-upon-Hull, and of Sts. equal to Appostles Constantine and Helena in York, who was assisted by Priest Nil Lyubchenko, Rector of the parish of St.  Kentigern in Glasgow.
At the divine service, pilgrims from Bradford, Glasgow, Irvine, Carlisle, Kingston-upon-Hull, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne prayed and communed the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
After the Liturgy, the pilgrims went in a procession to the spring of St. Kentigern, where a water blessing moleben was celebrated, then Father Anatoly sprinkled those present with holy water.
Communication continued at a festive meal, organized by the pilgrims.
