On May 1, 2022, on the 2nd Sunday after Easter, of the Apostle Thomas, the day of Antipascha, Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
The divine service was headed by archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England, with participation of archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of South West England, priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, priest Dimitry Lukyan, cleric of the Kyiv Diocese (UOC-MP), hieromonk Macarius (Meshreky), Rector of the Monastery of St. John the Baptist in Phoenix, USA, Diocese of San Francisco and the West, Orthodox Church in America, protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and deacon Victor Nikiforov.
20 monastics and pilgrims from the monastery of St. John the Baptist in Phoenix, Arizona, USA (Orthodox Church in America) prayed and received the Holy Communion during the divine service.
Liturgical hymns were performed by the Cathedral choir under the direction of Dimitry Tugarinov.
After the Holy Gospel reading, archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk delivered a sermon on the theme of Sunday - the assurances of the Apostle Thomas.
A prayer for peace in Ukraine was lifted up after the litany of Fervent Supplication.
At the end of the Liturgy, archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, on behalf of the Rector of the Cathedral, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, clergy and parishioners of the church, congratulated deacon Viktor Nikiforov on his birthday and namesake day and presented to Fr. Victor a holy prosphora and a memorable gift.
