On the evening of April 4, 2022, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, officiated Matins with the reading of the Great Penitential Canon of St. Andrew of Crete at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodskoye, Moscow.
His Grace was assisted by the clergy of the church: Rector archpriest Damian Kruglik, archpriest Andrey Karpenko, archpriest Sergei Subbotin, priest Mikhail Volkov, priest Andrei Tikhonov and deacon Sergei Kuznetsov.
The canon was read by the clergy in turn. Life of Venerable Mary of Egypt was read, according to an established tradition, by archpriest Sergei Subbotin.
