On April 3, 2022, on the 4th Sunday of the Great Lent, the feast day of St. John of the Ladder, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodskoye, Moscow.

At the service His Grace was assisted by Rector of the church, archpriest Damian Kruglik, priest Mikhail Volkov and deacon Sergiy Kuznetsov. The sermon, following the sacramental verse, was delivered by archpriest Sergiy Subbotin.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, archpriest Damian delivered a welcoming speech, in which he expressed his joy at serving together with Vladyka and the hope that such services would continue in the future.

In response, Vladyka Matthew thanked Fr. Damian for the warm welcome he received at the Bogorodskoye Church, thanked the co-celebrants and the choir who sang during the service, spoke briefly about himself and the Diocese of Sourozh, and wished all those present to climb the steps of the “ladder” of St. John of the Ladder, in order to meet with dignity and in peace, all together, the bright feast of the Resurrection of Christ.
