« His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh officiated Matins with the reading of an akathist to the Most Holy Mother of God at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodskoye, Moscow »

On the evening of April 8, 2022, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, celebrated Matins with the Akathist to the Most Holy Mother of God at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodskoye, Moscow.
According to an established parish tradition, the service of the Praise of the Most Holy Mother of God is divided into four parts; during the service, each of the four parts of the akathist is read before a separate icon of the Mother of God.  The first part is read in the center, where the Kazan icon lies on the lectern.  The second part is in front of the revered miraculous copy of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, to which the right (Tikhvin) chapel is dedicated.  Then the clergy move to the left aisle to the icon of the Quick Hearer, and the reading of the akathist ends in front of the Vladimir icon in the right aisle, according to the website of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodskoye.
His Grace was assisted by the clergy of the church: Rector archpriest Damian Kruglik, archpriest Andrey Karpenko, archpriest Sergei Subbotin, priest Mikhail Volkov, priest Andrei Tikhonov and deacon Sergei Kuznetsov.  The kontakion and ikos of the akathist were read by the clergy in turn.
