« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh took part in the celebrations in the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra »

On October 7-8, 2022, celebrations were held in the Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Lavra in commemoration of the repose of St. Sergius, Hegumen of Radonezh, the Wonderworker. The festivities were attended by His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada.
On October 7, on the eve of the day of the repose of St. Sergius, Hegumen of Radonezh, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh concelebrated with Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova during an all-night vigil.
On October 8, on the day of the repose of St. Sergius, Hegumen of Radonezh, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh concelebrated at the Divine Liturgy to Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, in The Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, St. Sergius Lavra. Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, Bishop Elisey of Uryupinsk and Novoanninsk, and Bishop Alexy of Caffa also took part in the festive divine service. The clergy from the dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church concelebrated with the right reverend bishops.
At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Anthony delivered a sermon.
Following the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova, together with the host of bishops, served a moleben on the square of the Holy Trinity-St.Sergius Lavra.
After the festive divine services, Metropolitan Dionisy of Voskresensk, Chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, read out a congratulatory message from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to the abbot, monks and pilgrims of the monastery.
