On September 28, 2021, on the day of commemoration of the Holy Great Martyr Nikḗtas (c. 372), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England, priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, and protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the chamber choir of the Cathedral under the direction of the choir master Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the end of the service, the Archpastor addressed the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with words of a sermon and spiritual edification.
Then His Grace Vladyka Matthew presented awards of the Russian Orthodox Church:
- In consideration of the labors for the benefit of the Holy Church and in connection with the 50th jubilee, subdeacon Nikita Anatolyevich Mishin, ktitor of the Dormition Cathedral in London, was awarded the Order of the Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, II degree.
- In consideration of her labors for the benefit of the Holy Church and in connection with her jubilee, Ksenia Andreevna Rubina was awarded the Patriarchal Gratitude medal.
The Liturgy was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
