On January 14, 2025, on the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and the day of remembrance of St. Basil the Great, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted at the service by Archpriest Vitaly Polischuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, clergy of the UOC temporarily residing in the Sourozh Diocese, and Priest Sergiy Fedorenko.
The deacon's rank was headed by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
During the Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Matthew ordained Deacon Alexander Kapustin to the rank of priest. The newly ordained priest will continue his pastoral ministry at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
After the prayer after the communion, the Archpastor and the concelebrating clergy performed a glorification of the feast.
In conclusion, His Grace the Archpastor addressed those present with words of sermon and spiritual edification. Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.  Bishop Matthew warmly congratulated Father Alexander Kapustin on his ordination to the priesthood and, instructing him in his further church service, presented him with a holy prosphora and an image of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God as a blessing.
