On the night of April 15-16, 2023, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated Easter divine services - midnight office, procession, Paschal Matins and the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Eminence was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
Liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At Paschal Matins, His Grace Vladyka read the Easter Homily of St. John Chrysostom.
At the end of the Matins, Vladyka Matthew, the concelebrating clergy and altar servants greeted each other with the Pascha of Christ on the ambo of the Cathedral.
During the Liturgy, the Easter Gospel was read in 5 languages: in Church Slavonic, French, German, Spanish and English.
After the communion verse, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch read out in Russian and English the Paschal Message of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to the archpastors, pastors, monastics and all the faithful children of the Russian Orthodox Church.
After the prayer beyond the ambo, Vladyka Matthew blessed the artos.
At the end of the divine service, His Grace Bishop Matthew congratulated the faithful on Easter and addressed the parishioners with words of sermon.
