On September 18, 2022, on the 14th Sunday after Pentecost, memory of the prophet Zechariah and the righteous Elizabeth, parents of St. John the Baptist, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
The Divine Liturgy was headed by Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England, assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of South West England, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevich, and Deacon Viktor Nikiforov.
Liturgical hymns were sung by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
After reading the Holy Gospel, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk delivered a sermon.
After augmented litany, a prayer for peace was lifted up.
On the eve of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral joined in the national commemoration of the deceased monarch.
During the days of mourning, a book of condolences on the occasion of the passing of Queen Elizabeth was opened in the Dormition Cathedral.  In the future, the book will be sent to the office of Buckingham Palace.
