« On the feast of the Great Martyr Irene Bishop Matthew Sourozh headed the celebration of the divine liturgy in the church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodskoye, Moscow »

On May 18, 2022, Mid-Pentecost, the day of memory of the Great Martyr Irene (I-II cent.), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA and Canada, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodskoye, Moscow.
His Grace was assisted by archpriest Damian Kruglik, priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Deputy Dean of the Dormition Cathedral in London, priest Nikolai Evseev, cleric of the church of St.Peter and St. Paul in Dublin, clergy and guests of the Parish.
During the small entrance His Grace Archpastor honored the clergy of the Diocese of Sourozh with hierarchical awards of the Russian Orthodox Church for their dedicated service to the Holy Church:
  • Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko - Archpriest
  • Priest Nikolai Evseev - the right to wear a palitza
On that day, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrates his 51th birthday. Rector of the church, Fr Damian Kruglik, addressed the Archpastor with a congratulatory speech, noting the joyful possibility to celebrate the hierarchical Liturgy headed by Vladyka.  On behalf of the clergy and parishioners of the church Father Damian presented to Vladyka a gift - the "Tikhvin" icon of the Mother of God and flowers.
Congratulations to Vladyka, on behalf of the clergy and laity of the Diocese of Sourozh and the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States and Canada were passed by Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko. Father Dimitry congratulated Vladyka Matthew with his birthday and presented to him a gift - mitra and a bouquet of flowers. 
Many Years were proclaimed to the Archpastor.
In response, the Right Reverend Vladyka thanked those present for their warm wishes and gave to everyone his hierarchical blessing.
