On April 4, 2021, on the 3rd Sunday of the Great Lent, Veneration of the Cross, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Dormition Cathedral in London. His Grace Vladyka Matthew was assisted by Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the augmented litany, petitions were raised to get rid of the spread of the harmful epidemic - coronavirus infection. Then His Grace Vladyka offered up a prayer, which is read during the spread of the harmful epidemic.
The liturgical hymns were sung by the quartet under the direction of the choir director Dmitry Tugarinov.
After the prayer behind the ambo, the clergy performed the rite of veneration of the Lord's Cross.
At the end of the Liturgy, the Right Reverend Archpastor addressed the parishioners with words of a sermon and spiritual edification.
