« Archpastoral visit of the Right Reverend Bishop Matthew of Sourozh to Canada and the USA has began »

On May 1, 2019, the Right Reverend Matthew, Bishop of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA and Canada, arrived to Toronto, Canada, with archpastoral visit.
During his three-week visit, His Grace will visit numerous parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in the North American continent, hold a series of official meetings with the hierarchs of the Local Orthodox Churches, representatives of secular authorities and diplomats, as well as with members of national diasporas located in Canada and the United States.
The archpastoral visit began with a visit to St. Tikhon’s Patriarchal metochion of the Moscow Patriarchate in Toronto.  Vladyka Matthew was met and briefed on current parish affairs by Archpriest Sergy Rasskazovsky, Rector of the church.  In gratitude for the hard work for the glory of the Church of Christ, Reverend Vladyka presented Fr.  Sergius with the Patriarchal award - a medal "In memory of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church."
On the trip, His Grace is accompanied by his private secretary N.V. Trubnikov.
