« His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh visited the Church of St. Nicholas in Oxford »

On April 19, 2019, on Friday of the 6th week of the Great Lent, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh visited the city of Oxford with archpastoral visit and led the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts in St. Nicholas Church.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Stephen Platt, Dean of the Diocesan District of Central England, Rector of the church, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, Priest Stefan Fretwel (ROCOR) and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.

The liturgical chants were sung by a choir conducted by Anna Platt.

At the end of the service, Rector Father Stephen addressed Vladyka with greeting words, having thanked him, on behalf of the parishioners, for his archpastoral visit and the possibility of joint prayer with their archpastor.  His Grace, in turn, addressed the audience with words of preaching and spiritual edification.

The archpastor visited the newly acquired church house, which will be used for various parish needs.
