On April 14, 2019, on Sunday of the 5th week of the Great Lent,  memory of Venerable Mary of Egypt, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Stavropegical Church of the Intercession in the City of Manchester.
His Grace was assisted by Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Dean of the Diocesan District of the North of England and Wales, Deputy Dean of the Church, Priest Anatoly Vihrov, Rector of the Parishes of Venerable Ksenia of St.Petersburg in the city of Leeds and of the Meeting of the Lord in the city of Bradford, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, cleric of the Dormition Cathedral in London, and Deacon Victor Ahryapin, cleric of St. George's Church in Newcastle .
The liturgical chants were sung by the choir of the Intercession Church conducted by Thomas Anthony Greenan.
During the Divine Liturgy, the Right Reverend Vladyka ordained deacon Viktor Ahryapin to priesthood and Neil Lyubchenko - to diaconite.
At the end of the service, Vladyka Matthew was warmly greeted by the church Deputy Dean Fr. Dimitry, expressing, on behalf of the clergy, church council, parishioners of the city of Manchester and pilgrims who arrived from other cities of Northern England, gratitude for his Archpastoral visit and the opportunity to participate in the Divine Eucharist, led by His Grace, having especially noted the importance of a historical event in the life of the Manchester parish - the sacrament of priesthood, when new priest and deacon were ordained during the Liturgy.
In his Archpastoral word addressed to the clergy and parishioners, Vladyka Matthew spoke about the feat of Venerable Mary of Egypt, whose memory the Holy Church keeps on this day, and wished the newly ordained clerics help from God in their future ministry.
