« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh arrived in Edmonton, Canada »

On December 14, 2018, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh arrived to the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
At the airport of Edmonton, the Right Reverend Archpastor was met by Archpriest Igor Kisil, Dean of the Patriarchal parishes in Canada and Rector of St. Barbara's Cathedral, and Roman Lopushinsky, Churchwarden of the Cathedral.
After the meeting at the airport, His Grace went to the Cathedral where he prayed in front of the icon of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara and part of her holy relics.
The main shrine of the Cathedral is the particle of relics (left foot) of St.Barbara, brought from Kiev in 1943 and given to the Cathedral by Archbishop Panteleimon (Rudyk) of Edmonton and Canada, which, according to the mount Athos' tradition, is placed on the altar's Holy table.
