Youth group of the Dormition Cathedral in London

The youth group at the Dormition Cathedral of the Sourozh Diocese, which resumed its activities with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, unites young believers who are deeply interested in Orthodoxy and attend divine services at the Dormition Cathedral in London. 

The goals of the youth association are to:

  

• form an Orthodox spiritual foundation among young people (aged 18 and older);  
• assist in finding proper life orientation, a path to meaning, happiness, and spiritual freedom;  
• cultivate traditional moral values of Orthodoxy;  
• support the realization of creative and professional talents for the benefit of society and the Church.  

Youth group initiatives:

• weekly Sunday spiritual talks with a priest (meetings are held in the cathedral library every Sunday, except the fourth Sunday of the month, at 1.00 pm);
• involving young people in participation in worship services and parish life;
• social and charitable projects;
• church concert programs;
• pilgrimage trips to holy places;
• informal meetings in nature;
• interaction with young people of the dioceses of the Local Orthodox Churches in Great Britain.
