« The holy relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov are brought to St. Nicholas Church in Oxford »

On June 13, 2018, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, relics of St Seraphim of Sarov miracle worker arrived to St. Nicholas Church in Oxford.

The holy relics are accompanied by the delegation of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolia: the senior priest of the Holy Trinity Seraphim-Diveevsky Monastery, rector of parishes of St. Seraphim of Sarov in village of Satis and of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Kruglye Pany Archpriest Igor Pokrovsky and his wife, deputy chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on the relationship of the Church with society and media I.V.Meshchan and his wife, and nuns Bartholomea and Mastridia of Diveevo monastery.

Upon arrival to the church in Oxford, a moleben was served in front of relics with a large confluence of Orthodox believers in the city.  During the visit, the delegation attended the grave of Archimandrite Nikolai (Gibbs), an English teacher of the Passion-Bearer Cesarevich Alexy, pilgrims also got acquainted with the sights of Oxford.

In the evening, after the moleben serving, Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky from the Dormition Cathedral in London,  presented the translation into English of the book by the holy martyr Archimandrite Seraphim (Chichagov) "Chronicle of the Seraphim-Diveevsky Monastery."
